Project Description:
The Southeast False Creek Olympic Plaza is at the heart of the new 2010 Winter Olympic Village neighbourhood now known as Millennium Water. This public space is delineated by steel 'rib' lights, which represent the ship-building that once took place on the site. A performance stage, public art and child water play area add to the space's range of experiences.
iGuzzini MaxiWoody LED RGB projectors mounted within the steel ribs highlight the structures and immerse the plaza in light. Lumenpulse Lumenfacade RGB LED luminaires concealed behind glass panels provide a beacon at the top of each rib.
The RGB LED lighting system is networked to an Interactive Technologies Cue Server that enables the lighting to be programmed, creating dynamic colour effects for everyday enjoyment and special events.
